  • Federal Aviation Administration - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for the safety of civil aviation. The FAA's major roles include regulating civil aviation, encouraging and developing civil aeronautics and air traffic control systems, researching and developing the National Airspace System, and regulating U.S. commercial air transportation.
  • National Transportation Safety Board - The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent Federal agency charged by Congress with investigating every civil aviation accident in the United States and significant accidents in the other modes of transportation -- railroad, highway, marine and pipeline -- and issuing safety recommendations aimed at preventing future accidents.
  • Nasa Aviation Safety and Security Program - In response to the recommendations of the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security in 1997, NASA created the Aviation Safety Program to research and develope technologies focused on the National goal of reducing the fatal aircraft accident rate by 80% by 2007. Site provides information and news about the program.
  • Flight Safety Organization - An independent, nonprofit international organization that provides a neutral forum where the aviation industry can meet in a noncompetitive environment to identify safety concerns, determine solutions and implement ideas and actions to improve safety. Site includes publications, news articles, and information on technical initiatives.
  • AirDisaster.com - Website dedicated to information on airline accidents. Site includes message forums, an interactive accident database, reports and articles on airline crashes, an accident photo gallery and many other airline accident resources.
  • AirlineSafety.com - Website dedicated to the subject of airline safety that seeks to provide a free-market forum for the discussion of policies and issues which are germane to airline safety. Aims to provide information without media bias.
  • Aviation Safety Network - Website provides information on airliner accidents and safety issues. Includes an accident database, accident investigation reports, information and news on "black boxes", airline safety information, publications, and other airliner safety resources.
